Akshay Kumar and Rajnikant Starrer 2.0’s Release Further Postponed

The release of the most awaited movie featuring Akshay Kumar and Rajnikant, 2.0 has been postponed again. 2.0 is a sequel of Robot is a 2010 big budget film. According to the COO of Lyca Production, Raju Mahalingam, this ambitious project was slated to release on 27th April 2018 but it has been pushed further. The film was planned to be released before Diwali but now the release has been shifted further to improve the project as per the world class standard in VFX. Some sources also cite Akshay Kumar‘s patriotic streak.

Directed by Shankar, the shooting of the film has been completed but some patchwork is left. The producers are already seeking for an alternative project in south India to fill the gap with this news of postponing of Rajni’s big project. Diwali is really a big festival in Kollywood which deserves to be dominated by a big star release. On the other hand, Taran Adarsh, a noted trade analyst tweeted that this Diwali, there will be a clash between Ajay Devgan’s Golmaal again and Aamir khan’s secret superstar.

The main reason given for postponing the date of releasing the movie is to add special effects and VFX which requires more time. This is being done by a leading studio in US. Raju Mahalingam says that being one of the costliest movies, the VFX work of the movie requires to be done very carefully. The production team expects world class look of the movie, thus the release has been shifted further.

Actually, the movie is going to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and 12 other languages this year but no dates are still finalized.
