Delhi Daredevils stuns Hyderabad to win by 6 wickets

Corey Anderson and Karun Nair lift Delhi Daredevils off the bottom in the points table as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Karun Nair, the stand-in captain of Delhi, won the toss and elected to bowl first in the IPL 2017 40th league match. Last match hero, David Warner once again was off to a flyer as Sunrisers brought up 50 runs on scoreboard in the fifth over itself. Delhi then removed three wickets to apply breaks to opposition score.

Yuvraj Singh overcame a slow start ans posted his second half century this season. He was dropped by Sanju Samson on 29 and went on to  make 70 off 41 balls.

Yuvraj-Henriques unbeaten 93-run partnership propelled Sunrisers to post 185 on the scoreboard. Defending Champions blasted, 102 off last 10 overs, with 42 runs in the last 15 balls.

During the innings break, Yuvraj Singh said that among all teams Delhi has the best bowling lineup 185 against them is a nice total.

In the chase, Delhi openers – Karun Nair and Sanju Samson fast start as they raced to 40 in the first four overs. All the Delhi batsman got start but couldn’t convert them into big one in a do or die match.

It was Karun Nair with 39 in 20 balls first and Corey Anderson’s cameo of 41 off 24 balls in the end propelled Delhi home in the last over of the inning.

Delhi now have 3 wins after 9 games and currently sixth in points table. If they win atleast four of their remaining five games, they can still qualify for the playoffs.
