As expected, the Android creator Andy Rubin has officially introduced ‘Essential Phone‘. Finally, here is the outcome of his project which he has been working on since his surprise departure from Google.
A new rival to iPhone and Samsung Galaxy phone has emerged as here comes Essential PH-1 smartphone. Sporting some of the industrial standard hardware, the Essential Phone truly lives up to its hypes.
The highlighting feature remains the 360-degree camera modularity, which can be clipped on the device through the magnetic connector.
Talking about the 360-degree camera, it’s definitely a revolution in smartphone camera technology. It can shoot UHD videos at 3840 x 1920 pixels resolution at 30 fps. Also you can achieve 1080p full HD video recording at 60fps and 720p at 120 fps. It has dual 13 mega pixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 8 mega pixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.
In terms of technical specifications, it has 5.7-inch edge-to-edge LTPS LCD display with round corners just like Xiaomi’s Mi Max 2. The display provides a screen resolution of 2560 x 1320 pixels (Quad-HD) and 501 PPI pixel density and gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top to protect the handset from normal wear and tears. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Octa core chipset with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB inbuilt storage.
From the connectivity front, it gets interesting with no 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, no slot for memory card, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi tether, Bluetooth v4.2 and aGPS with GLONASS. and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the back. The handset has 141.5 x 71.1 x 7.8 mm as dimensions and weighs 185 grams only.
It’s powered by a 3040 mAh non-removable battery with quick charge option and will be available in Stellar Gray, Ocean Depths, Black Moon and Pure White color accessories.
It runs on Android, although the version hasn’t specified. It maintains a 100% bloat-free stock Android user interface. You can simply call it as ‘bloat-free phone‘.
Priced at $699 and will be available in most countries in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia as an unlocked handset and through your favorite carriers.
